Last Friday, the Agency for Better Living Endeavors (ABLE)/Moso’oi team presented gifts to the Jean P Haydon Museum.

The contribution includes all walls, partitions, display stands built for the Mosooi Art Gala along with proper lighting for all displays including all the picture wall lights and clamp lights.

The gifts were presented to the Museum Governing Board Chairwoman Reggie Meredith, Museum Director Marion Mageo, the Jean P Haydon Museum, and American Samoa Arts Council Team.

“The current team has displayed strong leadership, dedication, and diligence with their efforts to revive the museum and allow all residents and visitors to see the wonders of Amerika Samoa as exhibited by the museum,” shared ABLE Vice President Elinor Lutu-McMoore.

ABLE President and Mosooi Team Leader Ammon Fepuleai added, “The Moso’oi Art Gala was created to provide a platform for local artists to exhibit their work and allow members of the community to have a chance to appreciate all the talent available and also purchase the art pieces for sale. It is the hope of the ABLE & Mosooi Team that the contribution will help the museum team to organize proper year-round exhibits and a permanent gallery for local artists to display their creative work.”

In accepting the gifts, Museum Director Marion Mageo said, “We are so grateful to the ABLE team and the Mosooi Team for this generous donation. We are always grateful for the partnership and we hope this will bring public awareness to the state of the museum and what we go through as a team to bring programming to life. That’s what it is about, education, knowledge, art, and community.”
