
The American Samoa Bar Association has announced the recipients of the ASBA Legal Education Scholarship and Michael Vuong Law School Application scholarship.
The 2025 ASBA Legal Education Scholarship has been awarded to Ms. Taylor V. Jessop, a top ranked 2L student at the University of California, Davis School of Law to apply toward her law school fees and expenses. Ms. Jessop plans to join the 2025 Summer Associate class of Cades Schutte LLP in Hawaii this summer. Last summer, she was an associate in the inhouse legal department of Hawaii Gas.
Her areas of interest include intellectual property litigation, trust and estates, land use planning and real estate.
The 2025 Michael Vuong Law School Application Scholarship ha been awarded to Ms. Tasi Pereira, a political science major and rhetoric & reason minor at the Southern Oregon University to apply toward her LSAT and law school application expenses. This scholarship was made possible through the generous donation of a former clerk of the High Court of American Samoa.
Ms. Pereira is an aspiring law school student with interests in the fields of environmental law, civil rights law, and immigration. She hopes to practice law in American Samoa one day.
The American Samoa Bar Association Executive Board congratulates Ms. Jessop and Ms. Pereira on their scholarship awards, and wishes them the best in their exciting future endeavors.
