Governor Lemau Peleti Mauga has signed the Fiscal Year 2025 budget bill, totaling $733.6 million into law.
The Governor did not veto any items on the budget, and the changes which the Fono made to the Special Programs budget were approved.
The Fono raised the subsidy for the American Samoa Community College from $1 million to $2 million, allocated $1 million for the dedication of the new Fono Building, added $45,000 for salary increases for District Governors and allocated $300,000 for Manu’a and Swains Transportation.
The FY2025 budget includes $165.9 million in local revenues, Special Federal Grants amount to $282.6 million, Enterprise Funds total $274.4 million and Capital Improvement Projects total $10.6 million.
