Case against former DHR director refiled

district-court-14

Independent Prosecutor Aitofele Mino Sunia refiled the case against former Director of Human Resources, Lynn Pulou Alaimalo, in District Court on April 19.

The defendant faces two misdemeanor charges of third degree assault stemming from an incident in Laulii on December 31,2023 in which she allegedly assaulted another woman, Gaioi Tufele Ours.

The District Court had dismissed the first filing without prejudice due to a conflict of interest issue.

Both District Court Judges Gwen Tauiliili Langkilde and Jon Clemens sat on the panel which appointed Sunia as Independent Prosecutor for Pulou Alaimalo’s case, and both judges also presided at proceedings for the case.

The conflict issue was raised by Judge Tauiliili Langkilde at a hearing in early April.

There was no arrest warrant issued in the latest filing and Pulou Alaimalo’s initial appearance was held Tuesday morning before Judge Elvis Patea.
