Tafuna JROTC Vex Robotics teams are off to the championships

Two JROTC Vex Robotics teams from Tafuna High School will leave tonight, Thursday, to compete in  the Vex World Robotics Championships in Dallas from April 28-30.

The Toa Robotics and Toa Robotic 2.0 qualified for the JROTC Division and will compete against teams from 50 other jurisdictions.

The cadets have designed and built robots from scratch for the competition as Major Siimoa Galoia explains.

At last years championships, the first time that a team from American Samoa competed, the Tafuna JROTC robot named TOA, won one of the eleven judges awards.
