There’s been a new development in the search for the missing 20-year-old from Afono.
Police are now verifying statements by a high school student that the missing person, Vincent Eti was seen in Iliili the weekend he didn’t return home.
This was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Public Safety Vaipuna Foifua Foifua Jr. who said that police have questioned the student and are verifying his statement that Vincent was with a group of friends at a store in Iliili on the night of Sunday, April 14.
The young man had left his home in Afono on Friday, April 12, with a fishing rod.
He was reported missing two days later on Sunday, and a sea and land search for him began that day and continued Monday.
Vincent’s mother, Logo Eti, has also talked to the high school student and is hopeful his information will pan out.
She told KHJ News that she had scolded Vincent for not doing his chores and he left their home crying and angry. She found out later from one of Vincent’s cousins that he and his girlfriend had just broken up.
