The search for 20-year-old Vincent Eti of Afono continued Monday.
Head of the Marine Patrol Unit Nofoaina Ulberg said the seas were calm and clear, and they covered a large area beginning from Vatia.
There was no sign of the young man.
Vincent left his home on Friday, but he wasn’t reported missing until Sunday. His mother, Logo Eti, told KHJ News that her son usually goes to an aunt’s house in Afono when he is unhappy at home. And she thought he was there. But on Saturday night, when he hadn’t come home, she called families in Afono that he usually goes to, but no one had seen him.
She said, on Friday, she had told her son off for not doing chores. He was crying when he left their home with a fishing pole.
She later found out that Vincent had confided in a cousin that he had broken up with his girlfriend.
Logo is not giving up hope that her son is still alive.
