The Senate approved, Thursday, in second reading the Governor’s $36 million appropriations bill.

Senators discussed the bill in their dining room, rather than in the chamber so the media was not privy to their discussion.

During second reading of the bill, Senator Magalei said after their discussion this morning, the Committee recommends passage of the bill.

Senator Malaepule Saite Moliga thanked Senator Magalei for the clear explanation given about why the bill must be approved. He did not elaborate.

There were no further views from the floor and the bill was passed by a show of hands.

Senators also approved, in second reading, the $700,000 that was vetoed from the Governor’s $3.1 million supplemental bill for FY2024.
