Paramount Builders stopped work on the new Fono Building on Tuesday.

The reason is its invoices haven’t been paid.

Paramount owner Papali’i Laulii Alofa did not respond to a request for comments.

Sources at the Fono say the unpaid invoices amount to $1.4 million.

Senate President Tuaolo Manaia Fruean revealed that the Director of Public Works visited his office this week to inquire about the payment for Paramount.

Senator Satele Lilio, this week, suggested that Senators inspect the Fono building soon so they can see for themselves the progress made so far.
