There were actually two male students taken in for questioning in connection with the hoax that forced the cancellation of classes at Tafuna High School on Wednesday.
A report by the Department of Homeland Security of the incident said the second student was also 15-years-old. Earlier reports mentioned one male student being questioned but, according to the DHS account of the incident, there were actually two male students involved.
The two boys had apparently exchanged messages on Instagram. The post, which caught the attention of the FBI, showed a photo of a minigun and a caption which said one of them was going to shoot down Tafuna High School.
The student who made the post told police it was a joke.
Questioned about the mini gun in the photo, he said that it was a stock photo from the internet and he didn’t have such a weapon.
