
Talofa Airways will be flying both to Tonga’s main island of Tongatapu, as well as the outer island of Vava’u island when it resumes commercial flights November 14.
One of the airline owners, Maria Westerlund Hunter, said since they announced the resumption of flights to Tonga there’s been positive response from the local Tonga community. In addition, the United Nations Program for women in Apia has shown interest for charter flights to the kingdom.
The flight for Vava’u will operate on Mondays, American Samoa time, from Faleolo then Pago Pago and on to Vava’u. The return flight is Vava’u-Pago Pago-Apia.
The flight to Tongatapu will operate on Thursday and will fly Apia-Pago Pago-Tongatapu, and return Tongatapu-Pago Pago-Faleolo.
The flight to Vava’u will be an hour-and-fifteen minutes, and the one to Tongatapu will be an hour-and-fifty minutes.
A roundtrip adult airfare to Vava’u is $US438, and the one to Tongatapu is $US495.
