Flags in the territory are flying at half staff tomorrow and Friday in honor of former Senator Gaea Pelefoti Failautusi, who passed away last month.
In ordering the lowering of flags of the United States and American Samoa, Governor Lemanu said, “As we reflect on the life of Gaea Pelefoti Failautusi, let us remember his honorable service to our territory as senator. Let us also take a moment to be grateful for all the great leaders who have helped preserve the tenets and ideals of our democracy.”
Gaea, who occupied one of the two seats of Tuala-uta in the Senate for one term, also served as ASG Treasurer.
He is the father of First Lady Ella Failautusi Mauga.
