Right when hurricane season ended on April 30th, the trade winds or tuaoloa moved in over the Samoa island group.

And that’s what’s causing the windy weather and rainfall we’re  experiencing.

The National Weather Service says the current conditions will remain for the next few days and should start clearing up by the weekend.

A flood watch is in effect and showers and thunderstorms are possible. Seas are also rough.

The trade winds are affecting all of the Samoan islands.
