There’s been a series of break-in theft and vandalism in the Tafuna area.
The latest victim was the Tafuna Elementary School – A Building. MiFis, money, laptops and a Bose SoundLink speaker were stolen.
The break-in has, again, prompted calls for the Department of Education to install security cameras in schools. Some schools listed security cameras or the hiring of security guards to man school campuses at night on their proposals for use of the Education Stabilization Fund.

Flag Day week, the cheerleaders practice room at the Veterans Memorial Stadium was also vandalized.
The suspects broke the trampoline and popped inflatables, broke lightbulbs and a window, and spray painted the room. Most of the equipment that was damaged were donated and those who worked hard to equip the facility are now wondering how they can replace thousands of dollars worth of supplies.

Residents of the area, around the Kristofer Store and KS Mart in Iliili, have also reported their homes being broken into and valuable belongings stolen—everything from jewelry to electronics, clothing and money.
The victims suspect that druggies who congregate at a known spot are responsible. Those who’ve had valuables stolen have posted photos of their belongings on social media to alert members of the public that the culprits may sell to.
