
A 30-member delegation from Samoa for the Atoa o Samoa talks to be held here, tomorrow and Thursday, began arriving this morning.
Site visits are planned for today and are being categorized in four groups—Environment, infrastructure, Transportation and Connectivity in Group 1, Health for Group 2, Economy for Group 3 and Immigration, Border Security and Law Enforcement in Group 4. Local departments and agencies are organizing tours of, both, the government and private sector in these fields, and will be hosting their counterparts from Samoa.
These areas are expected to be on the agenda of the discussions between the two Samoa.
The talks begin tomorrow morning at the ASCC Multipurpose Center. The program concludes with lunch and the afternoon is free. ASG will hold a dinner at Lee Auditorium, in the evening.
The second day of the talks starts with breakfast at the ASCC Multipurpose Center, finishes at 12PM with a press conference following the meeting, and a farewell at 2PM.
Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa is leading the delegation from Samoa, which will include the same ministers who were here for the talks last year:
- Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, Laaulialemalietoa Leauatea Polataivao Schmidt
- Minister of Health, Valasi Tafito Selesele
- Minister of Works, Olo Fiti Vaai
- Finance Minister, Mulipola Anarosa Molioo and
- Minister of Public Enterprises, Leatinuu Wayne Sooalo
CEOs in the delegation are from Health, Agriculture, Attorney General’s Office, Land Transport Authority, Customs and Revenue, Communications & IT, Works, Transport and Infrastructure, Commerce, Industry and Labor, and Finance.
The CEO of the Samoa Chamber of Commerce and President of the Samoa Association of Manufacturers and Exporters are also part of the delegation.
