The Director of the Office of Public Information/KVZK-TV, Aaron Hall, has resigned.

His letter of resignation to Governor Lemanu was dated March 24 and he requested that it be effective immediately. It’s understood that he has turned in his government issued vehicle, equipment and other assets.

Hall joined the government TV station as deputy director at the start of the Lemanu Talauega Administration in 2021, and was later appointed as director after Governor Lemanu’s first choice as director, Aoelua Solomona Aoelua, was not approved by the Senate.

At 38, Hall was the youngest member of the cabinet and was confirmed in the fourth regular session of the 37th Legislature last year.

While confirming he has resigned, Hall did not disclose his reasons for stepping down.

He told KHJ News, “TV is in stable condition, we have done great things. As I’ve always said to the staff and others, the mission of TV is to serve our people… So do it well and give the people what they deserve, which is the best.”

He continued, “Unfortunately my time to serve in this capacity has come to an end, and I made that decision myself with the guidance of my wife and kids. The roles and responsibilities have been established for many of the staff and I have full confidence that the operation is in good hands.”

Hall said, “I thank our almighty God for all and everything he has provided me throughout my life. I am truly thankful to Honorable Governor Lemanu P.S Mauga for the opportunity to serve in his Administration. I thank our people, locally and abroad, for [their] support and enjoying all the new things we have brought to TV.”

Chief of staff Loa Tuimaave Laupola did not respond to a request for comments about Hall’s resignation.

Before joining KVZK-TV, Hall was operating a video company called 684 Media.
