First female Vice Chancellor for NUS

The National University of Samoa  (NUS) has announced its first female Vice Chancellor and President in Associate, Professor Tuifuisaa Patila Amosa.

Tuifuisaa is an oceanographer by profession, and has been a lecturer at the NUS for over two decades and was Dean of the Faculty of Sciences.

She was educated at Samoa College and was a graduate of the NUS university preparatory year before taking up a government scholarship at Flinders University in Australia.

Tuifuisa’a is also a graduate of the University of Otago in New Zealand, and holds a Masters in Environmental Science and a PhD in chemistry and ocean acidification.
