There have been no arrests so far stemming from photos which appeared on Facebook, Wednesday, showing baggies of methamphetamine and a Department of Public Safety (DPS) truck at the ASCO Motors auto shop in Pago Pago. Six ASCO employees were taken in for questioning, that morning.
Deputy Commissioner Terry Letuli said, all the employees were released and no one has been arrested or charged.
As for the suspected baggies of ice that were depicted in the photos, Letuli said that the investigation is continuing on where they came from.
He confirmed that the DPS truck was dropped at the ASCO auto shop on Tuesday morning, and picked up that same afternoon. But ASCO didn’t say anything about the drugs that were found. “No one said anything about drugs being found in the truck,” said Letuli.
He said the questioning of the employees was to find out where exactly the drugs were found, and why police were not told of the discovery. Letuli clarified that the police did not conduct a raid at ASCO, rather they went there unannounced after learning of the mentioned photos posted on Facebook.
The deputy commissioner would not comment on information from a KHJ News source, that baggies of suspected ice—like that shown in the photos on Facebook—were found in the drawers of a senior employee.
