Children ages 3-5, from three private schools, are getting their eyes checked by a medical team from Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU).
The 5-member team, which arrived last Thursday, started screening at SPICC yesterday and continued at Manumalo Academy today, and will be at Kanana-fou tomorrow.
The eye screening is in partnership with the Lions Club of Pago Pago, the Dept. of Health and LBJ Hospital.
In between screening the excited students of Manumalo today, Dr. Katherine Belsmith spoke to KHJ News about their mission.
