
Last night close to 10 pm several police units converged at the Industrial Park, Tafuna in response to break ins and vandalism of businesses in the area.
Inmates are suspected of smashing glass doors and windows of two businesses and were headed for a third one but police arrived and gave chase.
It’s believed that two inmates were involved and their absence was discovered after a head count after 9pm.
The two escapees were caught and taken back to the Territorial Correctional Facility.
The businesses that suffered damages were K&K Furniture and Hawthorne Machinery.
No other information could be obtained before news time as the Acting Commissioner Fo’ifua Fo’ifua was not responding to phone calls.
The Director of the Department of Corrections, Tauanuu Semo Taunuu, could not be reached.
