In his Christmas and New Year’s message, Bishop Peter Brown of the Catholic Church reflects that the last few weeks “have called upon our faith, as we sadly parted with friends and family members called to God.”
He said, the birth of Christ reminds us, however, of the joy and hope of life.
“Whatever culture, language or identity, the Christ Child makes us brothers and sisters.”
Bishop Brown imparts, “By giving us His Son, God provides us with courage to reach out to those who are in need and feel compassion for them. May the Child of Bethlehem help us to open our hearts to a true Xmas spirit of peace and loving service.”
The church leader extends Season’s greetings and wishes: “On behalf of the Catholic Community of American Samoa, I wish you all a happy and blessed holiday season. Ma Ia manuia le Tausaga Fou.”
