For the first time, since 2015, the Leone Lions are in the American Samoa High School Athletic Association (ASHAA) championship!
They face off against the Tafuna Warriors who have been dominant this decade, taking home the title for the last 2 straight years. In fact, Tafuna has won 6 titles since 2010, while the last time Leone actually won a championship was in 2006.
What makes this game much more interesting is that while the Warriors have been running the league for the last several years, they were undefeated for the last two seasons until earlier this month when they lost to none other than Leone 34-18; taking on their first defeat in two years!
Can Leone repeat their success this weekend, like they did on the first Saturday of the month, or will Tafuna maintain their dominance and win their 3rd title?
