Alleged RSE scammer pleads not guilty

A woman of Lauli’i village, Samoa, appeared in the District Court to answer eight charges of obtaining money by deception.

TV1Samoa reports— Lynn Nauer is accused, by eight men, of taking $500 tālā from each of them in return for securing work with the New Zealand seasonal work scheme.

Police reports that not only did the men not get jobs, but they never got promised travel documents; despite Nauer telling them, earlier this month, to be at Faleolo Airport to fly to NZ.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges when she appeared in court this week.

Nauer has been remanded on condition of signing in weekly at police headquarters, she must also remain at her Lauli’i home and refrain from contacting the victims.

She will be back in court April 14, 2023, for her next hearing.
