A 41-year-old man has been jailed for 20 months for assaulting his wife with a steel handled brush.
The court was told he caused the defendant injuries when he used his fists to hit his wife, before beating her with the brush handle.
He appeared in court last week for sentencing and apologized for his action, and asked for leniency.
The court sent him to jail and ordered him to pay a $150 fine; and to attend anger management counselling.
He is also banned from consuming alcohol and drugs, as well as making contact with his wife where she lives.
