The American Samoa Democratic Party (ASDP) Executive Board has appointed Ms. Tiana Trepanier as Executive Director.

A graduate of Leone High School, she joined the Marine Corps after high school and while on active duty, earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Chaminade University.

For a decade, Ms. Trepanier worked in education as a teacher, a coach, an advisor, and as a principal for both Manumalo Academy and South Pacific Academy.

She also taught Criminal Justice Courses at Argosy, Wayland Baptist University, and Developmental English for the American Samoa Community College. She is currently the Plans and Operations Manager with the Office of the Governor and also works for Hawaiian Air, as a customer service and ramp agent.

Ms. Trepanier is a member of the Rotaract Club of Pago Pago, a softball Manager for the American Samoa Little League, the Leone High School PTA, and is a member of the Workmen’s Compensation Commission.

“I became a registered member of the American Samoa Democratic Party because I felt its leadership reflected my values. I believe that our elected officials have a special responsibility to hear and serve the communities they represent. They should engage in civil, honest debate on issues and consider how our lives are impacted by these policies. I want leaders that believe in the rule of law and the peaceful transition of power. Naturally, as a mother and working woman — the issues most near and dear to me are: access to health and childcare, quality education, income inequality, gun reform, environmental protection, personal choice and freedom. These are all issues at the heart of the Democratic Party platform.”

Chairman Patrick Ti’a Reid states, “I am confident that Ms. Trepanier’s lived and professional experiences as a veteran, mother, and an educator will be an asset to the ASDP Executive Board in moving forward. On behalf of the Board, we extend our warmest welcome to Executive Director Ms. Tiana Trepanier and look forward to working with her to promote the Democratic Party values and policy issues important to our Territory at the National level”.
