Today, March 31st, 2022, is the last day for applicants to apply for the $50 ASPA power credit from the #GiveLight Initiative. Individuals with an annual income of $15,000 or less may apply online at tinyurl.com/givelightas.

The Initiative has raised a total of $21,390, enough to provide assistance to 427 households. The effort launched just over 3 weeks ago. It is organized by 4 local non-profit organizations, in response to the desperate need for assistance for thousands of local residents who are experiencing limited to no-work-pay due to COVID-19 business restrictions in the territory. The GiveLight team comprises the groups: Esther Generation, Rotaract Club of Pago Pago, Foeoletini Foundation and ABLE (Agency for Better Living Endeavors).

Over 300 households have received the $50 ASPA power assistance so far, with hundreds more pending approval. Applicants with debit meters will receive cash power tokens, while those with mechanical meters will have their credit applied directly to their account. Applicants are advised to wait up to 24 hours to receive a decision from the GiveLight team on their application. If approved, it may take ASPA up to an additional 48 hours to credit their account. Anyone eligible is encouraged to apply for this one-time offer today!

Those wishing to donate may continue to do so via the Initiative’s GoFundMe page at gofundme.com/givelightas, or by making a direct donation to the Rotaract Club of Pago Pago.
