Nearly 3,000 COVID cases as of March 24th

We’re edging close to 3,000 COVID-19 cases. Yesterday’s (Thursday, March 24) total positives was 386, raising the tally of COVID cases since February 21st to 2,953.

The number of those who’ve recovered is 392.

A 44-year old man who died Tuesday morning is the first COVID-related death.

There was no hospitalization yesterday.

Meanwhile there are 7 patients in the COVID Ward at LBJ hospital.

The fully vaccinated sector of the population is now 82.3 percent.

There will be a drive-thru and walk-in vaccination clinic at the Fagatogo Marketplace Saturday, March 26th, from 8am to 2pm.

Teams will also be out to administer COVID-19 vaccines to homebound patients. Homebound individuals are people with physical limitations, those who are bedridden, wheelchair-users, and the elderly who may have difficulty coming into the regular vaccine clinic sites. In addition to vaccinations, there will also be a COVID testing clinic at the Tafuna Alternate Care Facility tomorrow on Saturday, March 26th from 8am to 2pm.
