March is Disability Awareness Month with the theme, “Moving Towards Change.”
The parents of Children with Special Needs Network (PCSN) is hosting a virtual celebration which starts next Monday, March 7 and will end April 1.
PCSN will host a Fun Fitness class over Zoom, for children and adults with disabilities and caregivers can join in the fun.
FUNFitness is a physical therapy discipline of Special Olympics Health Athletes that helps keep children and adults with disabilities in shape. It’s a great opportunity to do hamstring, calf, shoulder rotator, and hip flexor muscles.
Sandy Scanlan from PCSN will do fun physical therapy activities via telehealth to keep your children/adults with disabilities’ motor skills moving.
The first session will offer healthy tips such as protecting your back and good posture. Warm-up, mix exercises, and music videos.
FUNFitness will be every Monday from 11am to 1130 am for the whole month of March.
