The NOAA Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii has confirmed that a volcanic eruption has occurred in the Tongan Islands @ 5:27 PM. The resulting seismic activity may have generated Tsunami force waves.
Based on all available information from the Pacific Tsunami Watch Center (PTWC) the TSUNAMI WARNING is now CANCELLED for American Samoa and the Honorable Governor of American Samoa Lemanu Peleti Mauga has authorized the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security to issue an ALL CLEAR status for American Samoa.
