5th positive coronavirus case on Nov 1 flight

covid-test

The first Covid 19 tests for the travelers who arrived on last Monday’s flight from Hawaii returned one positive result among the 262 passengers.

KHJ News received confirmation from Director of health Motusa Tuileama Nua that a traveler yielded a positive result for coronavirus from the tests conducted on the 3 day after arrival.

That person has been moved to isolation following the usual protocols.

The Dept of Health was investigating if the person was a historical case, that is they had Covid before. That has been ruled out, said Motusa,

As with the first four positive coronavirus cases, the person was fully vaccinated, a requirement for entry into American Samoa, and is asymptomatic…not showing any symptoms of the deadly virus.

The second Covid test for the travelers will be conducted today.
