Today is when the Covid-19 Task Force begins paying a $100 incentive for Covid-19 shots as a last effort to get the vaccination coverage up to 80%.

As of last Friday the fully vaccinated percentage of the population was 56.7%.

With FDA giving full approval of the Pfizer vaccine for 16 year olds and up Attorney General Fainuulelei Ala’ilima Utu said under the emergency declaration for Covid.

Full vaccination is required for those traveling to the territory except for the ineligible group, and it may also be required for school and college enrollment, renewal of immigration IDs and visitation to the hospital and Territorial Correctional Facility.

The $100 incentive for Covid vaccinations will end October 15 and the Task Force hopes that the incentive will get the numbers up as quickly as possible.

Task Force Chairman Acting Governor Talauega Eleasalo explained what’s under consideration after October 15.
