A meeting of key directors of the Lemanu and Talauega Administration was held Monday at the VA Center, the team’s transition headquarters.

This was confirmed by Malemo Tausaga who chaired the Lemanu Talauega Campaign Committee and is also in charge of the Inauguration Program.

He said the Governor and Lt Governor-elect have picked acting directors of key departments with the intention that they would be ready to take over those departments on inauguration day, January 3.

The names should be released before the end of this week, said Malemo.

KHJ News understands that at least five present serving directors will maintain their directorships under the Lemanu and Talauega administration.

Other appointees have worked in the departments they will be leading, one is a current deputy director and one is moving from the private sector.

Malemo said that the group that met Monday are the first slate of directors that Lemanu and Talauega have appointed and they will be serving in “acting” capacities until they are confirmed by the Fono.

He expects that more directors will be appointed in the early days of the new administration.
