“Future Home of Ford Go Further, Samoa Motors” Hyundai Pago Motors says a sign that’s now posted at an empty lot at the government housing compound in Tafuna.

It’s where Samoa Motors will be building a new dealership for Ford and Hyundai product lines.

Olivia Reid, who heads the Reid Family of businesses says Samoa Motors has needed additional space for many years as evidenced by having to sublease neighboring lots in the Tafuna Industrial Park.

Responding to KHJ News questions Ms Reid said, “Particularly Samoa Motors/Pago Motors needs to have separate Ford and Hyundai showrooms to improve the customer experience and to properly showcase our vehicles besides having ample external display areas for our new and pre-owned inventory available for our clients.”

She also pointed out they need to provide larger service and spare parts areas to optimize their internal support network for customers and ensure that they can rest in comfort in their customer lounge while their vehicles are being serviced.

Architectural plans are underway and Ms Reid says they hope to complete the building by late 2021.

The cost will be determined when the architectural plans are finalized, she said.

The company has a 55-year lease with ASG for the roughly 3-acre area.

“The owners, management and staff of Samoa Motors are very excited about our new project so that we can provide stateside-level facilities that can best serve our long-time loyal clients and our first-time customers of Ford and Hyundai,” said Ms Reid.

She thanked Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga, Executive Assistant Iulogologo Joseph Pereira, Special Counsel and Director of Commerce, Keniseli Lafaele, for their support.

“It took us many years to secure a suitable site for our new Samoa Motors car dealership, but it’s finally a reality! We’ve been serving our community for 46 years since 1974 and we look forward to continuing to provide a premium customer experience with every visit to our new location upon completion.”

She also expressed appreciation to the public. “Thank you for your continued support, American Samoa! God bless!”
