In a ceremony last Friday, at the Lee Auditorium, 185 students from Leone, Tafuna, Nu’uuli Vocational Technical High School, Samoana and Fagaitua High School were inducted into the Future Business Leader of America Chapter, affiliated with the national organization.

The FBLA helps high school students prepare for a career in business through leadership development and educational programs.

Instrumental in making sure this came to fruition are Assistant Director of Career and Technical Education Heidi Uele, Program Director for Business Education Athena Mauga, Opa Sotoa, and public high school business teachers.

Pastor Dave Katina offered the invocation. Ammon Fepula’i, a teacher and a business owner who was the keynote speaker emphasized the importance of networking.

Director of Education Dr Ruth Matagi-Tofiga, officially accepted the student officers and encouraged to “Stay in school, plan and work hard”.

DOE Deputy Director Faaui Vaitautolu who closed the induction ceremony urged the students to return home and give back to American Samoa.

Congratulations to all the FBLA inductees
