Some are asking why the purse seine whose crew member had a “false positive” coronavirus test result Thursday was allowed to come into port when previously announced protocols required vessels to be boarded by Department of Health outside of the harbor and given COVID-19 tests.
The “Rosita C” purse seine whose last port of call was Ecuador, a country with coronavirus cases, docked at the main dock around 10 yesterday morning. One of the 33 crew members tested positive for coronavirus, which later turned out to be a “false positive.”
At a press conference last night DOH Epidemiologist Dr. Aifili John Tufa explained the protocol for incoming vessels.
