On Saturday at Lion’s Park Fijian Citizens, along with friends and families gathered for the Golden Anniversary of Fiji’s independence as their own sovereign state. 
There was singing and dancing from the various Fijian confederations around the island that represented the different Island groups that make up the whole of Fiji. Dr Alo Paul Stevenson was the special guest and Lieutenant Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga was also present to congratulate the local Fijian residents.
One of the keynote speakers made a presentation about Fiji’s unity in their humanity.

There was a special Kava ceremony for the dignitaries and also plenty of Fijian delicatessens like roti, curry and lovo.
