Leone Representative Andra Samoa says while the territory is in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, she wanted to remind the Speaker and House members of another disease of epimedic proportions which has taken root in families and villages across the territory.
That disease is ice.
Yesterday on the House floor the Leone faipule said reports from the Court house of drug cases show the severity of the epidemic. She said bus drivers, taxi drivers and others are all involved.
Rep Samoa and it behooves the Fono to take action.
She said with schools closed, the children are vulnerable to the ice business.
She recommended that when the Fono reconvenes the House should ask the group that was set up to tackle the drug problem as well as appropriate departments for their plans on how to deal with the ice problem.
