Tuala-Uta faipule claims Hawaiki Cable paid twice

The CEO of the American Samoa Telecommunications Authortiy Lewis Wolman did not agree with a statement by Tuala-uta Rep. Larry Sanitoa during review of ASTCA’s budget for Fiscal Year 2020 that American Samoa paid twice for the Hawaiki Cable.

Sanitoa was trying to find out exactly how much money has been paid for the Hawaiki cable, how much  much ASTCA borrowed from the Retirement Fund, how much has been repaid and the balance of the various loans.

The chairman of the budget hearings Sen. Magalei Logovii interjected and said that questions about the Hawaiki cable payments would be answered when the committee questions the American Samoa Economic Development Authority next week.
