The 2019 Miss SOFIAS (Sosaiete o Faafafine i Amerika Samoa) Vanessa Simanu Taamu wants to promote healthy living during her reign.
Vanessa of Utumea is currently living in Seattle, Washington where she works as a fisherwoman but intends to relocate to the territory.
Sponsored by family and friends as well as the Eastern Dynasty Zone, she was the judges’ choice to win the 2019 Miss SOFIAS Pageant over four other contestants.
She was crowed by outgoing Miss SOFIAS Valentana Faumuina at the Fatuoaiga Hall Saturday night before a packed audience.
Vanessa talked to KHJ News this morning about winning the Miss SOFIAS title.
