The new Samoa First Political Party will kick the Chinese out of the country and repeal all laws deemed as not good for the country if they become the new Samoan government.

According to Newsline Samoa, party executives made their intentions clear in an interview to announce their candidate for the Fa’asaleleaga No. 2 by-election later this month.

But the leaders did not elaborate on why they want to deport Chinese from Samoa, nor did they identify specific laws they intend to repeal.

Deputy leader Feagaimaalii Toomalatai Utai Leuo said their party was formed because it is the will of the people.

“Our Party was established not because it’s our will but the will of the many people who would like to see an opposition party to the present government,” he said.

“This expressed interest of the people was a result of our visits under the SSIG to the villages to explain the legislation LTRA 2008. They asked us to form a party to oppose the government.”

But Feagaimaalii clarified that Samoa Solidarity International Group and Samoa First are separate groups.

“They are different groups, these two are not affiliated,” he said.

However he admitted many members of the SSIG are also members of the Samoa First Political Party.

The Party leader is Unasa Iuni Sapolu, an attorney who is also the legal
representative for SSIG.

The Samoa general elections are scheduled for 2021.
