Reasons To Live wins Best Film at FMHS Oscars

Joey Cummings, General Manager of Southseas Broadcasting Inc. announcing the Best Film Award at the Faasao  Marist High School’s Oscar Awards Night Friday. 

“Reasons to Live,” is about a young man who tried smoking and drinking and his education falls by the way side. After being told off by his mother he contemplates taking his own life. But memories of his family, his classmates and his friends made him stop.  He climbs back up from failing scores to getting A’s.

In addition to winning Best Film, the movie also won Leann Silapan the award for best producer/director.

The other three short films that the FMHS seniors produced were Fobbin’ in Love, Cry Wolf and Untouched Beauty. 

Denver Inductivo won Best Cinematography for Untouched Beauty,  Lourdes Afoa won Best Script Writer for Fobbin’ in Love,  Best Special Effects was won by Carl Balauro for Fobbin’ in Love, Best Actor/Actress award went to John Magalasin for Cry Wolf, and Best Editor was awarded to Denson Javier for Reasons to Live.

Judges were Br Kevin, Malia Perelini, Joey Cummings and Tuiasau Uelese Petaia.
