The man who threw a pig’s head at Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi in Brisbane last year is now facing charges in the Samoa courts.

But according to Samoa Observer, the charges are not related to the pig’s head incident but Talalelei Pauga, also known as King Faipopo, has been charged under the Immigration Act.

He is accused of giving false information on his arrival card when he returned to Samoa last month.

CEO of the Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Agafili Shem Leo, declined to give details except to confirm the man has been charged.

Pauga was charged by Australian Federal Police for disturbing the peace following the pig head attack but was discharged without conviction.

According to reports he had been summoned by the village matai council of his village Manono-tai over the incident.

The council decided not to punish him for the attack which he said was in protest at the actions of the HRPP but not Tuilaepa.

He is scheduled to appear in court March 5, 2019.
