The ASG Financial Aid Board has come up with a solution to the shortage of local skilled works in trades like engineering, carpentry, automotive and so forth.

The Board is now offering the ASG Student Loan Program, administered by the Development Bank of American Samoa to students who enroll in trade courses at ASCC.

The loan scholarship is $2000 per semester for one year at ASCC.

At a presentation to ASCC students on Friday, Ane Tofili of the Financial Aid Office at the Department of Education explained the reason why the Financial Aid Board decided to offer the student loan program for trades students  only.
