It’s an honor system, use FEMA checks wisely

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is telling home owners who have been issued checks for losses and damages to their properties from Cyclone Gita, that if their checks are not used for the intended purposes they would not be eligible for assistance in the next disaster.

FEMA’s External Affairs Officer, Victor Inge said inspectors will be able to tell if damaged homes for which checks were issued this time, are not repaired.

The FEMA official gave this report on the status of Gita housing assistance.
