An old building housing a store along the main road in Nu’uuli, Ocean Mart, caught fire before 7 this morning.
While fire fighters were putting out the blaze, traffic came to a standstill in both directions and this lasted for more than two hours.
The exterior of the building was still intact but the interior was all burned.
When KHJ News passed by at 8:30 am smoke was billowing from the east end of the building and two fire trucks were parked at the scene .
The blaze slowed down traffic considerably at peak traffic hour as school buses were taking kids to school and employees were making their way to work.
