A name that has been synonymous with Hope House, is Sister Sheila Theresa.

While she was not among the first three sisters of the Poor Sisters of Nazareth who arrived in 1985 to work at what was then known as Nazareth House, she worked at the home the longest.

And she was the last nun to leave Hope House in 2009.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Hope House, Sister Sheila traveled from her native England for the week long celebrations by the local Catholic Diocese.

Sr. Sheila was Principal of the Montessori pre school that is housed at Hope House and her students, which include parents and their children, have been impressed with her ability to remember their names and how her looks defy her 78 years.

Sr. Sheila has been at all of the activities marking Hope House’s 30th birthday but is returning home tonight.

Sr. Sheila said on the Samoa Sunrise Show that Hope House exists because of the love and generosity of so many benefactors.
