Public invited to memorial service for Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin

The program for the  memorial service this evening for former Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin features five speakers.

Organized by the family of the former congressman, lt. Governor, assistant attorney general and American Samoa Army reservist, it will be a celebration of the life of Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin.

Faaua’a Kataferu, the sa’o or head matai of the family says many relatives, friends, former employees as well as associates of Faleomavaega in government, military, business, church and community will not be able to attend his funeral services next Friday and Saturday in Provo, Utah and today’s service will be their opportunity to honor and farewell him.

It will be led by Rev. Elder Faletoi Uso of the CCCAS Vailoa and speakers will include Acting Governor Lemanu, Interior’s Field Representative Lydia Faleafine Nomura, Senator Faiivae Alex Godinet, long time Chief of Staff and relative and Faleomavaega’s sister, Vaitinasa Dr. Salu Hunkin-Finau.

The service is set for 5 this evening at the Lee Auditorium and Faaua’a invites the public to attend.
