Voters Vote Overwhelmingly for Lolo & Lemanu

Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lt. Governor Lemanu Palepoi Sialega Peleti Mauga have been returned to power with a commanding majority.

Of the 12,024 ballots cast, 60.2%, that‘s 7,235 votes, were for the incumbents.

Lolo and Lemanu led in all except one of the 17 districts over the team of Faoa Aitofele Sunia and Larry Sanitoa.

Victory Lemanu hugsThe final tally of votes for Faoa and Sanitoa was 4,305 or 35.8%.

Tuika Tuika and Salanoa Iuni Maeva polled 484 or 4%.

There were loud cheers and jubilant voices heard at the Lolo Lemanu camp at the Fano Guesthouse in Fagaalu as results were coming in from their poll watchers across the territory.

The L&L team had established its lead early in the absentee ballots with 892 compared to 493 for Faoa and Sanitoa.

Though there was a dispute by the Faoa Sanitoa camp of about 40 absentee ballots that were not dated, the majority of the disputed votes were for the Lolo & Lemanu team nonetheless.

And as the results were received from the large voting districts like Pago Pago, Ituau, and Tuala-uta , Lolo and Lemamu solidified their lead.Victory Lolo & women

The Fano guesthouse was packed with supporters when a prayer service led by the CCCAS minister in Fagaalu got underway around 9:30pm.

Campaign chairman Malemo and Senator Tuaolo Freuan spoke then Governor Lolo addressed the gathering in Samoan.

After thanking supporters and commending them for a well run campaign the governor extended thanks to challengers Faoa Aitofele Sunia and Larry Sanitoa as well as Tuika Tuika and Salanoa Iuni Maeva.

Victory Tualo, SoliaiHe said their stepping in to the race has been an avenue for the public to learn about the achievements of government.

The governor also called on the two teams and their supporters to join them in steering the ship of government forward.  He said it is the way of politics that  after elections, everyone should come together for the good of the territory.

Campaign Chairman Malemo Tausaga announced that a prayer service will be held this Sunday for the whole territory to give thanksgiving for a successful and peaceful elections and seeking his blessings as we more forward.
