Man Gets 28 Months for Assault and Burglary

In court news, a man facing sexual charges was sentenced today.

Hilton Forlorn Muasau’s initial charges before he took the plea deal in July this year were rape, sexual assault in the first degree, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a minor, second-degree burglary and resisting arrest.

He plead guilty to first-degree assault and second-degree burglary and the rest of the other charges were dismissed.

It’s alleged that on September 13 last year, he forced entry into an apartment in Pago Pago and raped a 16-year-old girl.

Muasau apologized to the Chief Justice, to his parents,  and parents of the  victim and the victim herself.

Kruse sentenced the defendant to 28 months in prison and placed him on 7 years probation.
