Am Samoa Democratic Party Elects Leaders

The Democratic Party of American Samoa elected officers at a meeting at Toa Bar & Grill last night.

Fagafaga Daniel Langkilde was not contested in the election of chairman and has retained the leadership of the local Democratic party.

Minnie Tuia, was elected as vice chair, Caroline Rising was unopposed in the election of Treasurer and Joe Tavale  retained the position of secretary, as no one contested the position.

National Committeeman Aliitama Sotoa did not have a challenger and retains his position while Petti Matila was voted in as committeewoman.

The chair, vice chairman, national committeeman and national committeewoman have four year terms while the Treasury and Secretary serve for two years.

The new slate of officers will be seated after the  National Democratic Convention in two weeks.
